FF7: Yuffie/Tifa-verse
Title: None, yet
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Pairing: MY BELOVED OTP
Warnings: Uhm.. angst?
Once she found that little note Yuffie had left - hastily scribbled on the back of a shopping list, folded and folded again into a tiny little cube and hidden inside Tifa's favourite coffee mug so that she almost drowned it when she poured up her very-much-nededed comfort caffeine that night - Tifa switched from being frantically worried to a state of disappointment and weird, unexpected hurt.
Gone again, and she couldn't even bother telling someone about it, let someone know that she wasn't feeling good, give someone (Tifa?) a chance to make things better? Tifa would do anything to help her friends, anything anything everything. And everybody knew this by now - not that they took advantage of it (much) but she was the one they turned to when things went wrong, that's just how things went.
It wasn't only the lack of trust that hurt Tifa, though, but that part was the only she could explain; the rest of it she just stuffed into that unmarked chest in the back of her mind and locked it away to think about it later (if she ever ever would get the time to think about just herself for a change and anyway it was all just too confusing so she might as well try to forget it) - no need to let it bother her daily routines, they were messed up enough as they were already.
Plaster on the brave and understanding grin again, oh she knew this routine by heart, and tell the others what she found and don't show them she was hurt. She was getting better and better all the time; sure, sneaky know-it-all observant wise beyond her years Yuffie would've been able to tell it was painfully obvious Tifa was trying to hide something but Yuffie wasn't here now, was she?
"Yuffie needs some time alone, " she said and showed them the note, and because she said it the others calmed down and she knew they wouldn't be causing a fuss when (if) Yuffie returned.
(if?)
(of course she would, wouldn't she?)
